China will soon be the world’s largest cruise market, according to the boss of the world’s largest cruise company.
Speaking with China Daily newspaper, Carnival’s ceo Arnold Donald said: “The Chinese market is small today. But it will grow quickly.” He said Carnival’s cruise capacity in China is expected to grow by 140% from 2013 to 2015.
“We received half a million guests on our ships last year. We expect to have millions in the future.”
The Carnival comments come a couple of weeks after Royal Caribbean’s ceo Richard Fain revealed that China is RCCL’s fastest-growing market.
