Carnival commits more ships to China

Carnival Miracle will start service in spring 2017, and Carnival Splendor will be launched in spring 2018, the two ships will both be based in China year round.

The company will jointly establish operations in China with sister company Costa Asia, which has nine years of operational experience in the Chinese market.

“Given the combined experience of Costa Asia, along with other sister companies either already in the market, the collective scale of Carnival Corporation’s Asia operations is unparalleled and enables us to tap into an immense network of resources and expertise as we launch our China program,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Last month, Carnival Corporation announced that AIDA Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line will join Costa Cruises and Princess Cruises in the Chinese cruise tourism industry to strengthen its positioning in the market.
